
Auditing of electrical installations is done on a quotation basis. Rates are determined according to type and size of installation. This information is available from our Client Services on request.
In terms of this audit, the Inspector is not in a position to quote or suggest costs for remedial work.
Registered electrical contractors will need to be appointed by the client for repairs done and on completion issue the necessary Certificate of Compliance.
Property Developers
- The WCAEIA provides a service to ensure compliance of electrical standards. This service is available to the professional team used on developing sites be it industrial, commercial or residential.

Supply Authorities
Supply Authorities are offered the following services:
- Verification Certificates of Compliance
- Regulate the fraudulent use of Certificates of Compliance
- To police installation work and Supply Authority electrical systems in terms of prescribed
- Investigation of electrical related incidents.
- Providing a platform for electrical standards within Supply Authority areas.
- Confirming the correct application of the SANS 10142 / -- Code of Practice for the Wiring of Premises.
- Presenting workshops on existing or proposed regulations.
- Ensure compliance of Electrical Installation in terms of: EIR 5 (6) Design and Construction.
Electrical Contractors audit requests
Electrical Contractors may request the WCAEIA to perform audits of their installations before issuing a Certificate of Compliance. By doing so, the Contractor is confident that the installation meets the minimum requirements and therefore avoids possible costly “come-backs” at a later stage. |
